Book-It Book Giveaway

We're going to be giving away books. Some of them will be signed by the authors. But, in order to get your hands on one of these, you'll have to contribute. Right now, we're waiting to give away a signed copy of Denise Duhamel's Two by Two, a signed copy of Luis Rodriquez's Always Running--La Vida Loca: Gang Days in L.A., and a signed copy of Marjane Satrapi's Persepolis. We also have a copy of The Mayo Review, which includes artwork, poems, and short fiction.

WE WANT TO GIVE THESE BOOKS AWAY! BUT YOU HAVE TO BE A REGULAR CONTRIBUTOR! SEND US AN E-MAIL IF YOU'RE INTERESTED IN BECOMING A CONTRIBUTOR: bookitbz(at)gmail(dot)com.

Marjane Satrapi's Persepolis

I had the opportunity to listen to Marjane Satrapi talk about her Persepolis graphic novels (or comics if you prefer) and her film, which was nominated for an Academy Award. If you haven't heard of it, Satrapi writes of her childhood in Iran and the political upheaval that took place.
